Thx, OnTheWayOut, I am so happy to hear of your rebellion, and the hundred (+/-) or so other men that stood with you!!! Right on!
It just warms my heart!
cha ching!
this may have been discussed before.
the costs for using the assembly hall for a one day last saturday was $12,000 with another assembly for the other half of the circuit on sunday, which will ring up another $12,000.
if the assembly was for two days the friends might roll their eyes if it were announced the costs for the two days was $24,000.

pot calling the kettle black?
no one can do it better than the wt!.
And B.S. (great name!) the WT makes you feel good when they steal from you. Hey! they could make you feel good about sacrificing your child to Molech!
It boils within me that WT can say "Don't name call," but quite freely using any defaming, disparaging, derogatory handy term necessary to make themselves look "righteous" .
Ahhhhhh, but here is the MOST frustrating part of it... They won't say it to your FACE, they won't let you 'tell your side of the story'...
I guess this quote just says it all.... right from the pot's mouth:
*** w08 2/1 p. 20 Managing Conflicts ***
A proud individual attempts to elevate himself by constantly putting others down. He might do so by means of name-calling or negative comparisons.
Consider the example of the Pharisees and scribes of Jesus’ day. When anyone—even a fellow Pharisee—expressed an opinion that differed from that of these proud individuals, they resorted to name-calling and derogatory remarks. (John 7:45-52)
Jesus was different. He empathized with others when they expressed themselves to him.—Matthew 20:29-34; Mark 5:25-34.

Yep, Finkie, it is a sad realization that all of our hard work, and precious time went to supporting a cold hearted money making borg....
and thank you WTFree, so nice of you to post that it's nice to see it "out of their own mouth" .... nice of them to print it too!
Funny Brokeback, what you said reminds me of those little 'bobbleheads' that people buy.... give them a little nudge, and their heads nod up and down.... just like at talks, assemblies, conventions....

People are becoming disillusioned with organized religion for a variety of reasons. These include religiously motivated or religiously sanctioned violence and terror, sex scandals involving religious leaders, and more subtle factors, which may be taking a bigger toll. "
Such audacity!

Yep ThinkerBelle (love your name)
Anyway, this got my ire up years ago, when like Apocalypse, and SloppyJoe & many past others pointed out: They "vote" about "giving the extra to the WTBS" before they even get the $$, and say they are in debt!" GGGGGGGGGGGrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!
How much do these AssHalls cost, anyway??? We worked (donated our whole family's time) for a year and a half FREE, as did so many others....
$24,000 a weekend x's 52 weekends = $1,248,000
x's 5 years = $6,240,000
Such blatant rip off artists!
downloadable as a pdf here.. i did a search and couldn't find this posted on the forum.
if it has been and this is a repeat post....i apologize.. there is lots of information in that pdf that may be of interest to our members who like numbers and money and misc info pertaining to wts organizational structure, etc..
Very interesting, will read the summary, thx!
for those that lurk or havnt decided to post yet.... living a lie is difficult.
nobody would likely disagree with that... many of us lived or are living the wt lie for the sake of friends or family.
it can eat at us and put us in situations where we frame half truths, try to find tactful way to avoid telling people what we really think.. there is great freedom in being able to admit truths.

The famous quote, "You will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free" should be followed with a question, "What does it set you free from?" and then, "Do you really, really believe knowing the "truth" is worth it? Why?"
then..... "Would anything prevent you from seeking "the truth"?"
How do you know when truth is truth?
